Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information may be collected, how it is used, and when it may be shared. Using the site means accepting these practices.

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other query entered into a search box goes directly to the third-party provider that operates the tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our systems. Messages sent by email or a contact form may be kept long enough to respond and manage the exchange. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless the law requires it.

Technical Data and Cookies

Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may collect technical information when a page loads, including:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent;
  • referring website, when available;
  • date and time stamps.

Cookies help measure site use and support site features. Browser controls can reject them, although parts of the site may then work differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports ordinary site operations:

  • keeping pages available and responsive;
  • sending search queries to the selected partner;
  • understanding which content visitors use;
  • finding errors and security problems;
  • displaying advertising that may reflect interests.

Links and Advertising

Links may lead to MCDC JailTracker, the Mason County Sheriff, Maysville Police, Kentucky courts, the Kentucky Department of Corrections, federal locators, news outlets, and outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or tailor ads; that tracking does not occur on systems controlled by this site.

When Data May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:

  • search partners processing a submitted query;
  • analytics providers measuring traffic;
  • advertising networks serving or measuring ads;
  • law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Security Measures

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No website, network, or internet transmission can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law, a person may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal information held by us;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete information we retain;
  • opt out of certain processing where that right applies.

Kentucky public records held by government agencies are governed separately by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS Chapter 61. Requests about an official MCDC, police, court, or corrections record must go to that agency.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this privacy notice. Any new version becomes effective when posted here with an updated effective date.
